  • 9 & 10 Feb 2023

    • The Malaysian MAPIM delegation arrived in the Kahramanmaras region and started a relief operation in the surrounding area.

    • Piles of concrete stones as high as 5-6 storey buildings due to the collapse of apartment complexes and office/business buildings.

    • Many families of the victims are still seen on the sides of the road waiting for help to arrive to find and rescue family members who are still trapped under the pile of concrete.

    • The low temperature of around -4°C makes SAR relief work difficult.

    • MAPIM Malaysia joined hands with TDV, the Turkish government's waqf agency, to distribute hot food, cold blankets, and take care of the remains.

  • 11 hingga 14 Feb 2023

    • The Malaysian MAPIM delegation is still in Kahramanmaras, Turkey assisting the Turkiye Government Endowment Agency (Turkiye Dinayet Vakfi) in managing the remains, providing hot food to the victims, search and rescue, and distributing other relief items such as mattresses, cold blankets, and heaters .

    • The increasingly cold weather conditions make it difficult for aid work, and expose the victims who are still waiting for efforts to find and rescue buried family members to health and safety risks.

    • MAPIM Malaysia hopes for the contribution of Malaysians to lighten the burden of Muslim brothers who are suspected to be in Turkey and Syria. Help can be extended through financial donations via the Swipe link below:
